Five Reason You Never Want To Buy A Timeshare

During your travels, there is a high probability that at some point someone is going to entice you to attend a timeshare presentation (although they probably won't call it this while they are enticing you) with an offer of what appears to be a desirable freebie (show tickets, hotel stay, nice dinner or something similar). Do yourself a favor and decline. Timeshare sales agents are incredibly good at their job and the last thing that your finances want is for you to buy one. Here are five reasons why you never want to buy a timeshare:

Difficult To Sell

When you are buying a timeshare, you usually aren't thinking about what it will take to sell it, but you really should be. Timeshares are extremely difficult to sell, and sometimes it's impossible to even give them away for free. Most people have no idea how much time and effort will be required to actually sell a timeshare, or how much they are likely to lose when they finally do. Because there are so many more people trying to sell timeshares than want to buy them, it can take years to sell a timeshare, and during this time maintenance fees will still need to be paid even when you can't use it.

You Won't Save Money

Timeshare sales agents like to make it look like you will be saving money over other traditional lodging options such as hotels when they are trying to sell you on the idea of purchasing a unit. The problem is that they conveniently make some assumptions that aren't realistic. One is that you will be able to sell your unit for the same price that you paid for it when the fact is most timeshares sell for 80% or less of their original value (think cars once they leave the dealership lot). They also assume that you will pay the full price for hotel lodging when the fact is that with all the Internet comparison sites, people rarely pay full retail for hotel rooms these days. Add in the cost of financing, yearly fees and unexpected fees, and timeshares will not save you money compared to hotel lodging no matter how the sales representatives present the numbers to you.

Many Hidden Risks

Timeshares come with a large number of hidden risks that most people never consider. The biggest of these is the special assessment fees which are basically fees that the resort can levy on owners at any time when they feel they need more money. Since these can end up being thousands of dollars and can come suddenly, they are a huge risk that most timeshare owners aren't aware of when they purchase a unit. There is also the fact that yearly maintenance fees can skyrocket as the resort gets older and more repairs need to be made. What it all comes down to is that owners may have to pay a lot more than they ever expected when owning a timeshare.

You Can Go Without Owning

What most people don't realize is that they can rent the exact same timeshare unit for less than it costs to own it. There are many people who rent their unit because they can't use it, and the timeshare resorts also rent out units that aren't occupied. You can often get the exact same unit during the exact same week for what a typical timeshare owner pays in maintenance fees. By renting instead of buying, you avoid having to pay the large initial investment or take any of the risks that come with owning a unit.

Financing Costs

One of the huge expenses that is never mentioned when purchasing a timeshare is the cost of financing the unit. In order to finance a timeshare, you will be paying interest rates comparable to credit card interest rates rather than interest rates that are associated with home loans. In addition, these high interest rates are not tax-deductible in most cases like housing interest rates. The financing costs can add tens of thousands of dollars to the cost of the timeshare over the life of the loan. It will also be impossible to sell the timeshare until the loan is completely paid off locking in many people to a timeshare they no longer need simply because they still have an outstanding loan on it even when they no longer need it. When you take these factors into consideration, it makes little sense for most people to ever own a timeshare. The problem is that timeshares tend to be impulse purchases made during vacations when a lot of thought about what is actually being purchased isn't thoroughly researched. By understanding well before you find yourself in a timeshare pitch that it's something that makes little financial sense, you will save yourself a great deal of time, frustration and money.

Review: Camino

Thursday, June 28, 2012

I only recently heard about Camino fair trade organic  products. They are not only great for the taste buds but also for the soul. We tried their chocolate bars, candy bars, baking chocolate and coffee, and really found a quality taste in their products.

All products are made from quality ingredients grown by family farmers in Central and South America as well as Southeast Asia. The company offers a wide variety of baking chocolate and sugar which can be used to make delicious baked goods.

If ready-made treats are more your style-indulge in chocolate covered coffee beans, chocolate candy bars and a multitude of different chocolate bars. The company also offers roasted coffee beans and delightful hot chocolates.

So try the difference that quality ingredients can make and try Camino.

Charlotte's Tria Laser Hair Removal Experience

Wednesday, June 27, 2012

I was looking forward to using my new home laser hair system as I’d read a lot about them and the Tria laser hair removal reviews had seemed pretty good. The item was well packaged with its own case to store the charger and hand unit as well as plenty of instructions. The Tria system is the same as is used in professional hair removal clinics, but I read through the instructions and the high tech system is remarkably easy to use.

Is it for you?
After activating my device I performed a simple test to see if my skin was within the skin tone limits. If your skin tone is dark it can be prone to burning so there are appropriate safety controls with this device. I’ve been a moderate to heavy sun bed user for a couple of years and this worried me slightly because I was not expecting the system to work with me. Fortunately, I received a green light and I was okay to go ahead.
Under advice, I decided to try a small area first to check if there were any bad reactions and this would limit any damage or discomfort. I chose a sensitive part of my body and nothing untoward had happened by the following day so I went for it.

Using the Hand Held Device
I shaved my legs whilst bathing before using the laser as this is what the instructions stated was necessary. The Tria permanent hair removal system is simple to use and it can be done while sitting down and watching television. When the head of the laser is put to your skin it will signal with a beep to let you know that it has started and then again to inform you that the area has been treated and you can move on. The Tria laser hair removal reviews I had read had said it was best to move in a pattern of back and forth and then switch directions so that to make cross-hatch pattern to be sure the area is completely covered. I had done this on a sizeable patch of my leg, always making sure I overlapped the previous position. The system is a little time consuming, but not difficult and I had no doubts that it would be worth it if it meant not shaving.

The Pain Factor
Considering I had treated a large area, the Tria laser hair removal had not given me any cause to complain. I could adjust the intensity, but as I wanted things to progress quickly I set it at maximum to begin with. After about 15 minutes I turned it down because I could definitely feel it working and I set it at half power for the rest of my leg. The sensation is like was like a light sting when it was on the highest setting, but almost sensation free when it was on medium. It can’t really be described as pain, but I can imagine some people overdoing things early on.

The Results of Using the Tria Hair Removal System
There were immediately noticeable changes as the hairs on my leg were beginning to fall out as they appeared. This happened for a couple of weeks and then I treated the area again. This time the results were far more noticeable and the hair is thinner and staying away for longer. I can see this being a complete and permanent hair removal treatment with just another one or two sessions which will mean no more shaving for me. I’m glad I had read the Tria laser hair removal reviews because the system has given me a lot more confidence.

The Advantages of Twin Centre Holidays

Twin centre or multi centre holidays 2013 in the United States are a great way to get more out of your next family or couples getaway. They are a style of custom-made holiday which allows you to fly into one city and out of another, visiting several different destinations in between. This allows you to combine elements from many different types of breaks, such as a few days of lounging on the beach and then a few days of enjoying the hustle and bustle of the city. You can go from the fast paced excitement of Walt Disney World® Resort to the tranquil atmosphere of a beachside villa, enjoying both aspects of a fun holiday.

There are many advantages to booking twin centre holidays and many holiday-goers are opting for this type of holiday for their next trip to the USA. Here are some of the main advantages to booking a twin-centre holiday.

Completely Customizable

You will be able to customize your holiday exactly to your personal preferences, as many holiday companies will allow you to create custom-designed itineraries. This means that unlike a tour package which might include some attractions that you are not interested in, you will know that everything you have planned for your holiday will be exactly what you want to do.

Built in Back Up Plan

It might be that one aspect of your holiday ends up disappointing you, such as cloudy or rainy weather getting in your way of plans to enjoy the beach. When you have twin centre holidays planned with a wide range of different activities you will “hedge your bets” against any unexpected factors because you will still be able to enjoy the other aspects of the getaway such as shopping and dining. There is such a variety of things to do that the chances are most of them will be enjoyable.

The Best of Both Worlds

If you enjoy outdoor pursuits and swimming on the beach, yet also love fine dining, live music and a nightlife scene, it can be very challenging to try to find all of these elements in one place. In most situations you end up compromising on what you want to find a destination that includes all of these factors but does not excel at any of them. With twin centre holidays you can head to the best destination for each type of experience you are after.

See More of Your Destination

Many people come to visit Florida for Disney holidays in 2012 and think that they have had a full and complete experience of the state, but they have only been to Walt Disney World® Resort. There is so much more to Florida, from the big city excitement of Orlando to the lush and wild Everglades to the peaceful white sand beaches along the coastline. It is a large state and there is a lot of variety from one area to another. To only see one part of Florida is to miss out on all of the other pleasures that this vast and diverse state has to offer.

These are just a few of the many advantages to creating a custom multi-centre or twin-centre trip for your Disney holidays 2012. Why not see what kind of unique-to-you itinerary you can design for your ultimate dream Florida getaway?

Have you booked your Disney holidays yet? You might want to consider the advantages of booking twin centre holidays which will allow you to see several destinations within Florida and the rest of the USA. Talk to us before booking your Holidays in 2012.

Best of luck to all-

Tuesday- June 26

I'm not too sure what the temperature is today but it's suppose to get to 26 and it's muggy! I usually like to walk in the afternoon after Gerry goes back to work, but I'm instead going to type away and eat chocolate.Weather is calling for a thunderstorm tonight, followed by a few days of rain and this upcoming weekend calls for a heatwave.

Well, we are into our second week with our new dog, Jake.Oh, I know he looks cute but he CAN get himself into trouble.Besides taking my shoes out when I go to run errands,( and I've started spraying them with bitter spray my daughter Ria lent me), he started digging now in the yard...and we're not sure why. I'm guessing it could have been when Gerry was weeding the garden, since that's the spot he started digging. So, Gerry spent about $90 and made the fence around what you see in the garden photo below, but he has found other spots to dig by. Just wanted to know if anyone else with a dog has had this problem, and if so, any suggestions on how to get him to stop.I have read alot of ideas online but looking for a tried and true method.Any suggestions dog owners?

Affordable Ways To Market Your Business

Marketing is one of the most important tools for 21st century businesses, and has been used more so than ever in the recent years in an attempt to overcome economic crisis.

Despite this however, the expensive PR stunts and big advertising campaigns that big businesses use are out of reach for medium and smaller-sized businesses that are already stretched to financial breaking point in most areas of day-to-day operations, never mind marketing – and that’s if they have any dedicated marketing staff on the payroll at all.

There are however a few methods that companies of almost any size can use to get more out of their outreach for little to no money, and here are a few of them:

1.       There are plenty of advertising opportunities that are more affordable and a lot more relevant than TV and billboard adverts. Firms that use vehicles can for a small fee place important company details and signs on the side of them, and if these vehicles are used by employees for personal use, perhaps a small subsidy on the price they already pay for the pleasure can be offered in order to persuade them.

Banners and signage on company property is another affordable option – the price of the sign in question is pretty much the only expense - and if designed and taken care of properly it can be an important signifier for the firm, especially if your property is in a noticeable place with plenty of footfall.

2.       Making sure that your company’s brand image to the outside world is a cohesive one is another way to market your firm. Using email footers for external communication should be based on a template that includes name, position, company logos and even details of any relevant industry awards. These show professionalism whilst promoting the company every time an email is sent.

Business cards are also an excellent marketing tool, and all senior staff at least should have cards showing the company logo and details as well as the details of the owner of the cards. This is completely free advertising on your behalf, and every time one of these cards is given out, the name of the business is being spread.

Another cheap marketing option in many industries is merchandise and using pens or gift bags with company slogans on acts as free advertising. Buying cheap office supplies by Rajapack and personalising them with logos can be a cheap and easy way to market your firm.

3.       Social networking has become an increasingly indispensable tool in marketing, for those who know how to manipulate it effectively. Having all staff on a site like LinkedIn, networking with other industry professionals and providing their opinion on the latest trends in blogs and comment boards will give your company a presence on the internet, which although might take a while to craft, will ultimately pay dividends. To be known as a cutting edge thinker in the industry, abreast of latest developments is a huge boon, and could also eventually start to bring in new business as your reputation precedes you.

Review and Giveaway: Tokidoki Ramblers Hobo Bag

Sunday, June 24, 2012

Review by: Ria

Got to do a review for the Ramblers Hobo Bag ($128.00) from Tokidoki - yippee! Tokidoki, which means “sometimes” in Japanese, has a great website which sells many neat items such as bags, vinyl toys, clothing, make-up and other accessories.

This hobo bag sure makes a statement with it's multi-colored, Japanese-inspired print! The large bag is covered with international jet-setting motifs; passports, hotels, money, types of transportation and names of many countries/states. The bag also features a small Tokidoki nameplate on the front with logo as well as the cute heart & crossbones zipper pull. This heart and crossbone logo is also stamped on the rivets that attach the handle to the bag. The inside of the bag is lined in a blue print fabric and includes an inside zipper pocket as well as two smaller cell phone sized pockets.

This bag is quite large so it's good that I am into big purses that I can throw everything into! Measurements are approx 14 x 5 x 11 Inches. I can fit my laptop in here - and then some! This would make a perfect overnight bag for travellers or a cute statement bag for anyone. With the snappy print, heavy duty zipper and faux leather trim, this bag feels like it will last for many years to come!

Tokidoki would love to give away one of these bags to one lucky winner from Canada or the USA. A random draw will be made by Random.org  on July 2, 2012 from all entries received.

Achieving Success With Accounting Software

Accounting is a task that all businesses have to undertake.  It is an vital practice to sort and record taxes, tax code updates and any outstanding invoices, but it need not be quite as stressful as it may sound, or as expensive as it used to be.

Accounts software package from IRIS has enabled businesses to cut the high cost of physical filing systems and allowed complete visibility of financial records to accountants at any time. With a comparatively small up front expense, this software is easily implementable.

If your business needs to be audited, would you be able to provide the adequate records? Using the appropriate digital accounting solution allows you to view all your financial records at the click of a mouse. Despite the scale of your business, the right accounting software can save you both time and money, allowing you to focus on obtaining new clients and increasing income.

Your customer base is arguably the main reason for utilising an accounting software package. Without them you wouldn’t have a business, so it stands to reason that you want to make sure all their details are looked after. Financial software will allow you to monitor all in and outgoings, customer information, previous invoices and credits to their accounts. This means any time a query arises you will be able to answer it quickly and efficiently.

Employee finances are clearly another record that requires monitoring and updating. A software solution allows for automatic syncing between employee time sheets and payroll software. This means that there aren’t ever any inconsistencies when it comes to pay day, keeping employees happy! This is particularly relevant if your business bills clients by the hour, when consistency in rates of pay is very important. Tax updates and VAT can all be systematically calculated and reported to an accountant with minimal hassle.

Most accountancy software systems are also now hosted in the cloud. This reduces IT overheads for businesses hugely, as it removes the need for an in house server. Consequently, this means that no outsourced IT firm is vital for installation, setup or maintenance of the software. The software will always be updated to the latest version from the data centre where it is hosted by the software firm. Accessibility is no longer an issue as the system can be accessed from anywhere with an internet connection.

Accounting is the sustenance of any business, monitoring the incomings and outgoings. If you are struggling to keep track of your finances or balance the books, using easy-to-use, adaptable accounting software is definitely advisable. You will make your accountants happy and easily oversee the total worth of your company.

Have You Tried Twistos?

I've said it before and I'll say it again. We love our snacks during tv time, but Gerry and I will feel guilty when we're snacking on something unhealthy.

Pepsico Foods Canada  has a new way to snack healthier though. New Twistos Baked Snack Bites.Low in fat and calories but high on great taste. Located at your local grocery store in the cracker aisle- three flavors currently available: Parmesan & Garlic, Asiago, and Bruschetta. Made with all natural flavours.

Gerry took the Bruschetta to snack on at work and to share with co-workers.The two bags in the above photo, stayed here with me.They are very crunchy and tasteful .I couldn't stop eating them so had to bag clip them and put them away! I already would love to see Twistos add more flavors, and am a new fan.

However, not only are they a poppable snack for anytime and anywhere, but they can also be added to your soup,or as a salad topper.

I Feel Like a New Mom

Monday, June 18, 2012

I must say my new dog, Jake, has been tiring me out. I feel like a new mom.
He wants to be inside, then outside. He gets up at night or early morning and wants to go out to pee, and he likes to be by your side always.Sometimes too close actually and you really have to be careful he's not under foot, or behind your chair.

Its been a bit of an expense. He costed us $200 plus a trip out of town, although I got a deal on a one night hotel stay, had gift cards for his leash, collar, etc., and sold some things of mine for gas money. The previous owners did provide us with some dog food, an outdoor water dish, and rope for part of his dog run Gerry put together.Erika bought him a few toys as well as three bags of treats, and we'll be doing some upcoming dog toy reviews for him to test out.

I had been asked why I didn't get a dog from the SPCA, but their fees are just as high as what I paid for Jake, plus he's the type of dog I wanted.

In 2 weeks he has to go for a booster needle- $90.
In 2-4 weeks after that he will be neutered-$230
Last night's hair cut: $35

On another note: while out of town, picking up Jake, we ordered a king sized bed from The Brick. Got over $700 off and got a free 22" tv with it. Hope to sell our queen bed, frame and one of our tvs, plus bedding we have, for as much as we can get, so we have less to pay out.Always wanted a king bed!

Getting Money Back for Continuing Care

Having a relative with a long term, devastating health condition can be equally as devastating for the family.

In the UK they could qualify for NHS continuing Healthcare which would fund the full cost of care, including accommodation and nursing costs if they live in a care home or pay for nursing care at home. However, many are unjustly denied such benefit and many more could claim back the money that they have already paid. While fighting for good quality of life, it is often difficult to take up another fight with red tape which is why Cheselden  can help with things like reclaiming any wrongly paid care fees, having nursing home fees refunded, and avoiding paying care home fees altogether. There are no upfront costs do not charge fees or disbursements as your case progresses.

The cases are funded by Cheselden so that they only get paid when you win. Claims can be made on behalf of family members, if you have the legal authority to act for them. Every effort will be made to get the claim settled in a fast manner and keep the case out of court. Most importantly you will also understand the whole claim process. You can enquire about claims for current or even retrospective funding. There is a wide range of services offered for individuals, solicitors, PCTs and care homes.

The teams will look after cases from the start to the finish, so that you can look after what really matters-your family.

New on DVD and Blu Ray- Thin Ice

Thursday, June 14, 2012

There are very few things that Mickey Prohaska ( Greg Kinnear ) wouldn’t do to escape the frigid Wisconsin winter. Reuniting with his estranged wife (Lea Thomson) and jump starting his insurance career would also be a bonus. Thus, when a lonely retired farmer (Alan Arkin) moves into town, Mickey attempts to con him- in order to achieve his goal. As his attempts spin out of control, Mickey finds himself in a spiral of deceit and double crossing.

On DVD and Blu Ray June 12, “Thin Ice” is a blend of hark humour and Midwestern noir, and when the ice breaks no one will know what’s coming.

Watch the preview trailer here.

** Gerry and I liked this movie and would recommend seeing it.

Review : Eureka AirSpeed® Gold AS1001A

Wednesday, June 13, 2012

Let’s be honest-no one likes vacuuming. Between the weight of the vacuum, changing of bags and the constant search for the nearest plug, it is one of the most hated household chores. Good quality vacuums can make this chore a little easier, but they also can come attached to a hefty price tag.

Recently , I had a chance to review Eureka Air Speed® Gold AS1001A, a product comparable to Dyson DC25, DC33 & 41, but at half the price!

The Air Speed Gold has two tubes with limited twists and turns which decreases the distance for the dirt to travel, while at the same time increasing the suction. This is the one instance when saying ‘it sucks’ is a compliment. The WhirlWind® Cyclonic Technology maintains suction power longer separating large particle from dust therefore decreasing need for maintenance. The HEPA filter captures 99.7% of the allergens and dust, providing you with a home you can breathe in. The 32 foot cord means that my never ending search for the nearest plug is finally over. The flip bottom dust cup makes cleaning the vacuum that much easier.

The Air Speed Gold has some fantastic features and with the affordable price tag that doesn't "suck"!
