Review: Bogs Footwear

Review by: Erika

Even though the snow is diminishing quickly here in Calgary, I was very excited for the opportunity to try out the woman's "Juno Tall" insulated winter boots from BOGS!

BOGS boots are practical while still being stylish - this particular pair has a quilted shaft and quick close lacing system for adjust-ability as well as a rugged BioGrip out sole to keep you steady when it's icy or slippery outside and faux fur lining, which kept my feet cozy and warm (in temperatures up to -30°C!)

One of my favorite features of BOGS boots are the handles on each side, which makes them easy to pull on. The boots also fit nice and snug, while still being comfortable and supportive! The height and waterproof feature of the boot allows for ultimate protection against even the deepest of snow so there's no worrying about getting snow in your boots or wet socks/feet.

Overall, I don't think you can go wrong with BOGS footwear! They have a variety of different styles for men, women, kids and babies to protect against the elements in any season. Whatever type of boot you choose, I guarantee you'll love your BOGS!

Things To See and Do While In San Diego, Ca

Since I have another "itch" to travel out of the area and explore, we have decided to take a trip to San Diego, Ca. in a week. It's a 4 1/2 hour drive  from Quartzsite, Az.( according to Map Quest). With a recommendation from another camper, we will be staying at the Sweetwater Park in San Diego County. Looks like too that if we stay at least 2 nights, we get one night free! Sweet deal!   Jakey will be with us to so after much researching I think I have have found him a good spot for doggy daycare while we are out for the day. We even get the first day free! Another sweet deal!

It takes alot of researching when we travel, looking on Trip Advisor for things to do, sending for travel guides from tourism departments, and checking out other reviews. I have come up with a few places we are going to try our best to get to, and then blog to you, our readers on how things went.

*** ( and in no particular order of must see first or must see last!)

#1 -Whaley House Museum

Located at 2476 San Diego Avenue in historic Old Town San Diego, the Whaley House stands today as a classic example of mid-nineteenth century Greek Revival architecture. Formally dedicated as a historic house museum on May 25, 1960 and open to the public ever since, it is one of southern California's most popular visitor destinations. Over 100,000 people visit the Whaley House annually, with guests traveling from across the globe to experience this world-renowned museum.

According to the Travel Channel’s America’s Most Haunted, the Whaley House is the number one most haunted house in the United States. The alleged hauntings of the Whaley House have been reported on numerous other television programs and been written up in countless publications and books since the house first opened as a museum in 1960.

#2-San Diego Museum of Art-

The San Diego Museum of Art, the region’s oldest, largest and most visited art museum, provides a rich and diverse cultural experience. Located in the heart of beautiful Balboa Park, the Museum’s nationally renowned permanent collection includes Spanish and Italian old masters, South Asian paintings, and 19th- and 20th-century American paintings and sculptures.
In addition, the Museum regularly features major exhibitions from around the world, as well as an extensive year-round schedule of supporting cultural and educational programs for children and adults. Exhibition text is always in English and Spanish. The Museum’s research library also offers access to an extensive collection of art history publications.

SeaWorld San Diego has many different attractions for you to enjoy. There are a variety of thrilling attractions for the whole family. Exciting rides such as the double-launch roller coaster called Manta. There is also some amazing live shows for everyone to enjoy. Live shows like Sea Lions Live or the Chinese Acrobats of Hebei.

There are also several special attractions at SeaWorld San Diego, like Turtle Reef and the Shark Encounter. Of course, the most important thing SeaWorld has to offer is the experience. You'll have a wonderful day with your family seeing Shamu, polar bears, penguins, dolphins, whales and so much more at the marine wildlife park. #9- Maritime Museum
#10- Flagship Cruises & Events-
San Diego Harbor Tour-

San Diego’s Harbor tours gives you a beautiful way to enjoy the waterfront on a relaxing cruise. The luxury ships feature 3 levels, and has indoor or outdoor seating. You'll also be having a 360 degree view aboard the ship. Plus they have a snack bar, where you can get snacks, and beverages like soda, beer and wine.

You can choose between a 1 or a 2 hour tour. The one hour tour is either the North Harbor or South Harbor. Here you will see historic landmarks, sea life and more. Or if you want the full tour of both Harbors then you would go on the 2 hr tour. Each tour is narrated by a professional guide. We can't wait!
