Quick Party Planning Checklist

Monday, September 9, 2019

If you are planning a party, but you’re not too sure where to start, then this post is for you. There are some pretty essential steps that can help you to host a memorable party or event without breaking a sweat; why make it more stressful if you don’t have to? So leave the stress behind with this party planning checklist, and then you can get the party started!

Select a date and time

When you start off, it is a good idea to keep a rough date in mind, but also not narrow it down to just one date just yet. Being flexible is something that can help when planning, and it can help you to get an idea of guests and who is available when. You might want to ask around first, especially if it is close to the holiday season, and then you’ll have who you want to be there, be able to be there. If you have a venue in mind, then that is also a good idea to check on, as places can get booked up ahead of time. You should also make sure that you know what extras come with a venue, if anything, such as a DJ or a food or drinks package. That can help if there is anything in place.

Decide a theme

Having a theme isn’t something that all parties need, but if you want to have a theme for the party, then it can make it really fun and help you to plan things much more easily. It could be something like a Vegas themed party or just a general theme like summer of Christmas. Having a theme can help you then theme the food, theme the decorations, and theme what you want to do at the party. Going back to the Vegas themed party, for example, could mean that you have a blackjack table going on, as well as a roulette. So choosing a theme can really help to set the tone for the party.

Determine your budget

Once you know what your plans are, you then need to think about how much you have to spend on the party. Your budget can help or hinder things, so it is important to make sure that you know what your plans are. Then you get to enjoy the fun part such as choosing the food and the decorations, to make the party look just as you want it to.

Invite your guests

The invitations that you send out need to include the important things like the date, time, and location. The theme may be evident from the style of invite you choose, but it can be helpful for guests to know what to expect, as well as what to wear. So if you are expecting them to wear something in particular, then make sure that you state any dress code. As well as sending out paper invitations, then you could also create a Facebook event as another reminder for people and a good way for them to see who else is coming. It can help you create a buzz around your party and can help to maximize turnout.
