Getting Your Money Sorted In The New Year: How You Can Do It

The new year is in sight, and so many of us will have made those all-important new year resolutions to make the next year even better than the last. That might mean improving your health and fitness or changing your lifestyle in some way, or even traveling more and seeing the world. But a lot of people place some focus on their finances at this time of year, especially once Christmas is over. With that in mind, here are some tips to help you get your budget back on track.

Reduce the food bill

One of the biggest outgoings many of us have after our mortgage and rent payments is our food bill. It’s crazy how much you can spend on food and toiletries each week, and the cost can really mount up over the month. However, we still have to eat and keep ourselves clean, right? So why not try some of these tips to help you reduce your food bill? One of the main ways you can do that is by meal planning. Sitting down and working out what you have in your cupboards and pantry and then writing a list of the items you need only. This can dramatically reduce your food bill.

Sort out any debt you have

After the food shop, many people can spend a large chunk of their income on paying a debt. This isn’t just the mortgage, this is more like credit card debt. Owing out multiple amounts and to various card providers can end up costing you much more than it needs to. If you find yourself in this predicament don’t threat, the first port of call would be to check your credit history and see what kind of situation you are in. This will enable you to highlight the areas that need tackling the most. A great tip would be to try and consolidate all of those debts into one affordable monthly payment.

Save money on those things you have to buy

There are always things we have to buy, like clothes, birthday presents, and even next Christmas to consider. That’s why you could consider using discount codes, vouchers, and coupons to bring the cost down. There are also some bargains to be had on more investment pieces, such as a unique gift like jewellery or a watch. If you look, you can pick up things like used Cartier watches or antique jewellery and they can be an amazing value. You might also want to think about shopping when stores have sales on. They can reduce items as much as fifty percent at a time, especially in January and after summer.

Start saving money on your energy bills

Some people don’t realize that they have flexibility when it comes to their energy bills, but you are not stuck with the amount you pay. There are ways you can reduce your bills by changing provider or making changes to some of your habits in your home. Quite often, energy providers will give great cost saving deals to new customers, and not reward loyalty. So why not change energy providers? A great tip is to use comparison websites to see where the best deals are being offered.

Let’s hope these tips help you get your budget in order in the new year.

7 Ways To Increase Your Income in 2020

The new year is in sight, and one of the best ways you can plan and prepare for it is by deciding what your goals and plans are for the coming year. By doing this before the year even starts, you will get it off to the best possible start! You won’t be able to procrastinate, or have a good excuse for not getting started on your dreams.

One think many people would like to do now and in the future, is find ways to increase their income. This may take a little work, but it’s certainly doable. Below, you’ll find 7 ways you can increase your income in 2020. Take a look:

  1. Use Cashback Sites
Using cashback sites is one of the easiest ways to increase your income - although it could really be classed as saving money. You need to give it time, but every time you make a purchase online, a small percentage will be logged in your cashback site account. Eventually, you will be able to withdraw the money in there. It may only be small amounts, but it’s worth starting now, especially when shopping for Christmas!

  1. Open A High Interest Savings Account
A high interest savings account is a great way to make your money work harder for you. If it’s sad in any old account, it’s not going to help you accumulate more wealth. In fact, one of the best ways to make your money work harder for you is to invest in various stocks and accounts so that your money can accumulate over time. Savings depreciate and will not make you rich. Having money that automatically multiplies in the form of your investments could well make you wealthy.

  1. Be Smart About What You Spend Money On
It isn't always about what you can make, but the money you can keep if you don’t spend it. It can be too tempting to spend money the second it lands in your account, but staying mindful of what you actually spend it on is a must. Make sure you can separate your needs from your wants, and don’t feel under pressure to spend all of your money. Keep some behind and let it build up. Of course, you may have to pay for something like https://www.absolutebailbonding.com/ if you get into trouble and there’s no other way out. This is why you should always have money in reserve, as well as an emergency fund. You just don’t know when you might need to use it!

If you can sell some old items online, that will help you to de-clutter your home and make more money, too. See if you can get used to living a more minimalist lifestyle.

  1. Make YouTube Videos
Youtube videos are a smart way to make money - vlogging is the new blogging! However, you need to be consistent with them. It’s also a good idea if you can make your channel fairly niche, rather than general, as this will give you more of an opportunity to build followers. You can then monetize your videos and get money using ads. If people begin to trust your opinion and judgement, you may even be able to share affiliate links that others can use to buy products you recommend and you will make a small commission. This is something you should enjoy doing, as you won’t make money overnight. However, if you’re good at it, it could be very lucrative.

  1. Create An Online Course
If you have knowledge in a certain subject, creating an online course could be a wonderful way to share that knowledge with others and make money doing it. You will only need to put the course together once, and after that, you will make money each time somebody purchases it.

  1. Write Books
Love to write? Whether you like to write fiction or non fiction, you could make money by writing books. You could self publish or publish using Amazon - it’s the marketing that counts really, as well as making sure your books are professionally edited so that people actually want to read the rest of them. The more books you have, the more chance you have of earning money while you sleep.

  1. Start A Podcast

Audio content is also on the rise, so right now could be a great time to start a podcast. You get to create a show based around your interests and discuss topics that you enjoy. All you need to do is purchase the basic equipment and choose a podcast hosting company to store your files and share them with all of the major platforms like iTunes, Stitcher and Spotify.

Expensive Errors To Avoid After An Injury

Tuesday, December 10, 2019

A personal injury can truly wreak havoc in your life, impacting you not only physically, but emotionally and financially too. The moments immediately following an accident are usually filled with shock and confusion. People don’t typically expect injuries to occur, so don’t always know how to handle situations in which they do. Because of this, it’s relatively common for victims of injuries to put their health and finances at risk. Here are six costly errors to avoid after an injury.

Failing To Gather Evidence
Accidents aren’t always mere accidents. Sometimes, there is someone to blame. When an individual or company are the cause of your injury, you can make a claim against them. For that to happen, however, you must first provide evidence of their fault. Make sure you seek medical help quickly, take videos and photos, if possible, and gather details of any witnesses.

Admitting You’re To Blame
Many human beings are naturally inclined to apologize, even when certain situations aren’t necessarily their fault. The mixture of shock and fear that comes with a car accident, for example, could prompt to you say sorry to the person that caused the crash. This suggested admission of guilt can ruin any personal injury claim, which is why you must bite your tongue.

Ignoring The Doctor’s Orders
Seeking out medical attention is essential after an injury. Doing so will allow you to protect your health and gather evidence for your lawsuit. Unfortunately, even after speaking to a doctor, many people don’t look after themselves. If you ignore your doctor’s orders, this will cause issues with your claim. After all, improper treatment can easily make a mild injury much worse over time.

Assuming Claims Are Easy
Some accidents have a clear faulty party, making a claim relatively straightforward. Sadly, not all personal injury cases look like this. Most lawsuits are more complex, especially claims made against an employer. It’s important that you discuss the advantages and disadvantages of bringing a claim with an expert before making a decision. Rushing into the process won’t help.

Talking About The Case
After any traumatic event, some people wish to speak about whatever they’ve been through. Although this is a healthy coping mechanism, you must only talk to those you know you can trust. Anything you say about the accident or your recovery could be used against you in court. That is why you shouldn’t speak to the other party directly or share any details on social media.

Accepting An Early Offer
In many instances, the injured party will cut themselves short by accepting the first settlement offer made. Even when the sum appears reasonable, it’s unlikely to be the full amount you’re due. As tempting as it might be to accept, you must discuss with your lawyer first. They are qualified to tell you whether the offer is fair or if you could ask for more money for your trauma.

An injury can impact your life in many ways, but with the advice above, it shouldn’t harm your personal finances.

eLearning Entrepreneurs Are Using Webinars To Build Credibility

Monday, December 9, 2019

21st century businesses need to train their people to meet the demands of the modern marketplace. Finding third-party educational services that can do that, however, is a challenge. Most managers don’t know who to choose.

eLearning entrepreneurs recognize this, and so they are increasingly turning to webinars: tools that they can use to establish their legitimacy and authenticity.

When you think about it, this makes a lot of sense. Company managers and executives often don’t know ahead of time whether they are interacting with a legitimate outfit or not. They’re afraid that if they pay a substandard training company a large sum of money, they won’t get a return on their investment.

With a webinar, however, prospective clients can meet the people behind the eLearning company and judge them on their merits. Thus, webinars are an opportunity for potential clients to voice their objections to signing up for educational programs.

eLearning entrepreneurs use webinars for all kinds of reasons. One is to talk about training ROI or the money that managers and executives will get back in the form of higher productivity if they invest in training.

eLearning companies also use webinars to talk about microlearning. The idea here is to educate employees for a few minutes every day, keeping their skills up to date while also boosting engagement,

The benefits of using webinars as a marketing tool for companies in the eLearning sector is quite remarkable. If you want to learn more, check out the following infographic in detail:

Raise the Roof With Las Vegas' Blue Man Group

Friday, December 6, 2019

They say : "The Blue Man Group will rock your world, blow your mind, and unleash your spirit." They said: " Leave your expectations at the door and let three bald and blue men take you on a spectacular journey bursting with music, laughter and surprises." They said: "Did you know that 35 million people of all ages, languages and cultures know what Blue Man Group is really about." And they want you to  DARE TO LIVE IN FULL COLOR!

Since 4 of us staff bloggers for the One Income Dollar, were in Las Vegas, we just had to check out the Blue Man Group, Las Vegas. 3 of us had YEARS ago seen a show in Canada, but it had been a while and this cool theatre inside the Luxor was smaller. The theatre allowed for more room for the up close and personal with the guys, who also at times made their way into the audience for some fun with their audience !

We had a blast! The Blue Man Group is theatre, comedy, rock party and dance fun for all. Expect to have fun!

**Please note- there is no dialogue spoken in the show.. and as well strobe lighting is used. They say you may be sensitive if you are prone to or have had seizures, although Gerry was fine and had a grand mal seizure many years ago.

Bucket List Idea: See The Sun Rise and Sun Set on a Beach

We had a nice one night stay at the Lake Havasu State Park, in Arizona, last evening.

It has been cold, even for Arizona, but like everyone says, it IS winter...even if we are in Arizona!
Staying beach front, we were able to check another item off the "bucket list" and that was to see the sun rise and sun set while staying at the beach, and that we did...

Five Ways To Enjoy Senior Travel On A Budget

You’ve (hopefully) reached a glorious time in your life where you don’t need to endure a family holiday with three grumpy teenagers bickering in the back of a camper van. Or, you still currently have to endure this and yearn for the time when you can go away by yourself, with your partner, or a group of friends without having a whole family in tow.

Is your fear of overspending holding you back from treating yourself on travel? Here’s 5 ways to enjoy senior travel on a budget without breaking the bank.

Go With An Over 50s Group
Going with a group will help you avoid the steep prices traditionally associated with a solo trip, while still allowing you to visit the places you enjoy with a group of like-minded people. The best part of senior travel tours is that you often find your trip includes food, hotels, and entry to tourist sites to entice the savvy traveler to come along.

Go Off-Season
One of the best benefits of being retired is that you can travel off-season and be flexible on your travel dates. You can look further afield at trips that you can book just inside of rainy seasons, or simply stay local but avoid your traditional school holiday dates. The best benefits of this are that your tourist locations are quieter, generally cheaper and locals may be even friendlier as you frequent their establishments outside of the regular holiday period. You’ll also avoid expensive flights, hotels and any package deals if you go outside of normal travel times.

Look For Senior Discounts
Most hotels and holiday operators favor the over 50s. Considered more refined, with more disposable income, you might be surprised with the holiday deals on offer to entice and engage your audience. You might find these discounts readily available on existing travel sites, or check out any existing membership you already have (like car insurance deals) for all the best offers and discounts.

Stay Out Of Town
Why not avoid your traditional tourist destinations and stay in a local village or ‘undiscovered’ holiday location? There are still thousands of beautiful areas with local tourist sites that would welcome you wholeheartedly just off the beaten track. Particularly useful for weekend getaways if you want to stay in a cozy little countryside B&B, or even stay outside of a traditional city destination and take a quick commute into tourist central.

Airbnb It
Airbnb is the perfect solution to achieving a budget getaway for the same location and quality as a full-price hotel. You might find yourself staying in a beautiful city apartment or even a themed treehouse by the sea. Additionally, a large portion of these are self-catered, which gives you the added benefit of buying and trying local foods.

You can still spend your hard-earned money on a holiday if you take a little time to research all the rates and discounts that come with senior travel. Feel fantastic at 50 plus without breaking the bank.
