With Veterans Day coming up, now's an
important time to say "thank you" to military personnel and veterans. Through a
charitable program just announced between Operation Gratitude and SmartphoneTradein.com anyone with an old cell phone can
do just that.
Whether it's a Blackberry, iPhone, Samsung, or other brand, for every cell
phone received for trade-in by SmartphoneTradeIn.com, the company will donate an
additional $5 to Operation Gratitude, which will be used to send care packages
to U.S. military personnel, their families, and veterans.
This is a great win-win for consumers and Operation Gratitude. Consumers
can get cash for their old cell phones to buy new ones or boost their holiday
spending budgets, and Operation Gratitude gets additional funding for its
programs. For instance, an iPhone 4S 64GB in regular condition is currently
listed at a $200 trade-in value at SmartphoneTradein.com. So that's $200 in the
consumer's pocket, and an additional $5 to help the troops through Operation
Gratitude.
The program is an extension of Operation Gratitude's eight year partnership
with the founders of SmartphoneTradeIn.com. Since 2006, Operation Gratitude has
raised $150,000 through its cell phone collection and recycling program.
