The #DIY Valentine's Day Box of #Chocolates

For ages we’ve heard the best way to a man’s heart is through his stomach so, we’ve made this easy, DIY chocolate box—filled with all his favorite sweet treats! Simply make our favorite truffle recipe (included below) and add in his favorite dipped chocolate goodies and treats. Place inside of a parchment-lined Reynolds Kitchens  bakeware dish (so nothing sticks to the bottom) lock on the top, seal with a bow and top with a cute love note!

Chocolate Truffle Recipe
Prep Time: 30 Minutes    Chill Time: 1 hour
Makes: 30, truffles

1 pound dark chocolate, chopped
1 cup heavy cream
1/4 teaspoon vanilla

  1. PLACE the dark chocolate in a large bowl.
  2. HEAT the cream in a saucepan until it just about reaches a simmer.
  3. POUR the cream over the melted chocolate. Add the vanilla extract and let set for 1 minute.
  4. STIR the cream and chocolate tougher until fully incorporated and smooth.
  5. TRANSFER to refrigerator until firm enough to roll into balls, about 1 hour. Stir the mixture occasionally while cooling.
  6. LINE a baking sheet with Reynolds® Parchment Paper.
  7. ROLL chocolate into 1-inch truffles. Transfer to parchment-lined baking sheet. Toss in one of the toppings below.

Reynolds Kitchen Tip: Chocolate truffles should be rolled into topping mixture while still slightly wet on the outside. If truffles have hardened, reroll using your hands just before tossing into the topping mixture.

Strawberry Truffles
1 package (1.2 oz) freeze-dried strawberries (about 2 cups)

  1. PLACE freeze-dried strawberries in a blender. Pulse until powdered. Transfer to a medium-sized bowl.
  2. ROLL prepared truffles into strawberry powder.
  3. TRANSFER to parchment lined baking sheet and refrigerate until 1-hour before serving.

Coconut Match Truffles
2/3 cup sweetened coconut, finely chopped
1 tablespoon matcha (green tea powder)

  1. PLACE all ingredients in a medium-sized bowl. Toss and stir to incorporate.
  2. ROLL prepared truffles into mixture.
  3. TRANSFER to parchment lined baking sheet and refrigerate until 1-hour before serving.

Hazelnut Truffles with Turmeric and Ginger
1/2 cup hazelnuts, finely chopped
1/4 cup Sugar
1 teaspoon Cinnamon
1/2 teaspoons turmeric
1/2 teaspoon ginger
Pinch of black pepper

  1. PLACE all ingredients in a medium-sized bowl. Toss and stir to incorporate.
  2. ROLL prepared truffles into mixture.
  3. TRANSFER to parchment lined baking sheet and refrigerate until 1-hour before serving.

Road Trip! Arizona

We're heading on a road trip to Sedona, Arizona which will provide us with plenty of time and opportunity to spend quality time together while bonding and making special memories as we hit the open road.  Arizona is breathtakingly beautiful so we plan on taking our time along the way through some very unique and interesting places that only Arizona has to offer to our final destination in Sedona where we hope to indulge in some other sight seeing along the way as well.

Sedona is home to the most amazing red sandstone formations that glisten shades of red and orange with the rising and setting sun. Sedona is truly a magnificent little city with so many things to do and experience that offers something for everyone from arts and culture to excellent outdoor activities such as balloon and helicopter rides to just take in some breathtaking beauty from above, including national parks for outdoor adventures and explorers to amazing resorts and spas.

We've done our research and plan on stopping at Camp Verde Historic State Park to enjoy its natural unspoiled beauty.

Camp Verde is located at the Southern tip of Verde Valley and surrounded by beautiful 6000 to 7000-foot peaks. Camp Verde is a wonderful place to explore either by hiking the most awesome picturesque trail, boating, and kayaking or just standing idly by and fishing the day away. The Verde River runs through the camp, right in the middle of the dessert bringing added beauty to the landscape with it lush and unique foliage.

We also plan on visiting the Montezuma Castle (a 20 room, 5 story castle built 70 feet above ground level which lays north of Camp Verde which should provide us with some extraordinary photo ops including Montezuma Well nearby which is actually a 55 feet deep limestone sink-hole that is fed by underground springs! It looks like a wonderful place to rest and picnic and enjoy the scenery.

While on our road trip we just can't miss out on visiting the Out Of Africa Park Wildlife Park either, which should provide us with the opportunity to get up close and personal experience with the animals.  It will be a thrill to get up close and personal with our favorite animals. According to the photos, we've seen the park looks like it has a Serengeti look to it where the animals are free to roam the giant park. We hope to learn more about the animals in their care and hopefully we'll even get the opportunity to have a behind the scenes experience too! The park offers this amazing Full Zip Line Tour where you can zip line over the animals from tower to tower; seven towers in all for the ultimate thrilling experience which sounds exciting and scary at the same time. We'll just have to see who has enough courage and bravery to try it out but I doubt it will be either of us! LOL

We're definitely looking forward to this getaway as we head out this week.

4 Instruments Every Pilot Needs to Assist with Everyday Tasks

Being a pilot is an amazing, thrilling experience. However, it’s also incredibly stressful. Being responsible for the passengers on your aircraft can be extremely daunting, so it’s vital you have the right equipment to help manage your day to day tasks. Here you’ll discover 4 instruments every pilot should have to make their lives that little bit easier and their passengers safer.

1. Aviation charts

Aviation charts are essential, helping you to safely navigate the aircraft, much like a road map for cars. They are used alongside other essential tools to determine safe alternative landing areas and to plan alternate routes in case of emergency. They also show you exactly where you need to go. It’s important to make sure you’re using the most current aviation charts and you know exactly how to use them.

2. Transceivers

Another essential instrument you’re going to need is a high-quality transceiver. Making sure you’re buying from a reliable brand such as Flightstore Pilot Supplies Ltd is extremely important. Enabling you to stay in constant communication, transceivers help to avoid potentially deadly crashes. Every year, dozens of pilots are involved in crashes due to poor communication with air traffic control which could have been avoided with a top-quality transceiver.

3. Flight bags

Don’t underestimate the usefulness of a flight bag. Helping you to keep essential tools and equipment safely in one place, a good flight bag can make your life so much easier as you fly between destinations. In terms of what to put in the bag, a torch, bike pump and even tiger balm have been listed as important must-have essentials.

4. Logbook

Logbooks are not only useful, but they’re also a requirement in most countries. Used to list each flight you have flown, along with training completed and hours accumulated, they help to prove your experience and certification. On a day-to-day basis they help you to stay organised and see exactly how many miles you are doing each week.

These are just 4 of the top instruments you’re going to need. The most important thing is to ensure you are buying the best quality instruments. There’s a lot of pressure placed upon you as a pilot, so anything which makes your job a little easier and improves the safety of you and your passengers should be fully utilized.

Overall, it helps to research the different instruments available and compare them before choosing the right ones to fit your needs.

Review : The Magellan MiVue 420 Dash Cam

Sunday, January 29, 2017

Review by: Gerry

As a frequent RV traveler, we are on the road alot, from our departure points to our destinations.Having a Magellan MiVue 420 Dash Cam gives us the sense of security should the unforeseen happen while on route through the many cities we find ourselves traveling through. Beautiful scenery, crossing wildlife, outrageous behavior, and other unexpected events also occur while driving. With the MiVue 420 we can capture these events and with a press of a button, protect the footage from being recorded over. Which we could then share with friends and family in person or via your social media connections.

What I like about this product is it has simple and easy to use instructions, installation takes a few seconds and the cam itself does not obstruct driver's view through the front windshield. It also has many features in one product that offer more than just your average dash cam.

I really cant say enough good about this product. Only if your in the market for one, this is the one you want to get.

Big Horn Sheep in Our "Backyard"

Saw neighbours camping today that had their binoculars turned towards our RV and the hills. When Gerry looked out the window- there they were, the big horn sheep. It was the mamas and their young. The male was a long ways up on another hill overlooking them, but you could sure see his massive horms from a distance. ( Didnt get that photo as he was too far up).

The How To Guide On Squeezing More Out Of Your #Money

Wednesday, January 25, 2017

It is the eternal battle isn't is? How to get everything you want out of a small amount of money? It's not the easiest, but it is possible, and there are some tips and tricks that can help you do it. So read on for some advice on how to make your money go further, without missing out on all the things you want.

Make Your Own Coffee

The number one mistake most Americans make is that they end up spending a small fortune on coffee house beverages. I'm not saying you should give the coffee up, far from it! But is it really the best use of your hard-earned money? Probably not. That is why you should consider getting your own coffee machine.

By spending the amount, you would over a month on coffee shop drinks you can get your own coffee machine like this one. Then you can have good quality and specialty brews whenever you want for at a fraction of the price. It is just simple math.

I just don't understand why people don't do it more. Maybe they think it's more convenient to buy coffee when they are on the go. But it's easy enough to brew a pot before you go out the door and just decant into an insulated travel mug for your journey!

Even if you are buying one coffee in the day during work hours, why not get yourself a coffee machine for the office? Or, even better, split the cost with your colleagues? Then you’ll hardly be paying anything at all, and you have someone to split the coffee bean bill with too.

Always Look For Vouchers

Another essential way of squeezing more out of your money is to shop savvy. This means coupons and vouchers like the ones at, should become a major part of your shopping routine. Some folks never buy an item without a discount coupon, and you need to be more like them.

Coupons are available for all sorts of items. One of the places you can use them for the biggest saving is in your grocery shop. Clever couponing can get you a massive stockpile of items for free!

To do this, you will need to understand your store’s coupon policy on doubling and on the maximum number of coupons allowed in one transaction. You'll also need to collect multiple vouchers, so ask friends and family to save up coupon inserts for you.

Sales Are Your Friend

Another savvy way of shopping is to keep on top of the items that you will need for the coming year, and only buy them when there is a sale on. For example, anything from kids toys to winter clothes can be bought at fraction of the price if you time it right.

Image link

This means you can stock up your wardrobe and you gift pile for next to nothing, if you are clever about it. The days after Christmas are a great time for getting toys and games for the younger members of your family, as well as winter shoes and boots. So make sure that is on your calendar.

There Is Nothing Wrong With Preloved

Another way to squeeze more from your money is to leave your pride at the door and consider preloved items. Preloved or secondhand and items are a great way of getting the things you really want for a discounted price.

Some people are a little funny about second-hand items, they feel like they are ‘dirty’ or won't be as good. But this is rarely the case. Especially in terms of expensive things, as people will have made an effort to look after them.

Great items to buy preloved include electronics, computer games, and mobile devices. This is because the new one comes out so quickly, that many folks want the next upgrade, even though their original items are still in great condition.

Speculate To Accumulate

Lastly, most people have heard the phrase speculate to accumulate. But it tends to be used regarding buying things to sell and make a profit on. But in this case, it's about selling things to enable you to buy something else.

If you find yourself wanting something, but you just have the money for it, the great idea is to sell an item that you have already, but are not using. In this way, you raise the money for the new things without going into debt.

You also get rid of something that you weren't really using, and so making more room in your home, and minimizing clutter. It really is a win-win situation.

Different Ways a Higher #Degree Can Help You Build a Better #Future

Tuesday, January 24, 2017

Deciding to pursue a master’s degree is never easy. There are a lot of factors to consider, from the field you want to specialize in and the course to take, all the way to whether the master’s degree is valuable enough to pursue in the first place. There is no easy way to get around the decision making process, either; you have to decide for yourself whether it is the right thing for you.

While I can’t help you make that decision, I can give you some help with figuring out whether a master’s degree is a good idea. Here are some of the ways a higher degree can help you build a better future.

It’s Easier to Get One

The master’s degree program will still be very challenging. You have to meet entry requirements and keep up with the course’s standards in order to earn the degree. That said, there are programs designed to help make the process much more enjoyable.

Online programs have been popular these past few years for this very reason. The online courses available today, brought by top universities such as Rutgers Online, allow you to have the opportunity to pursue a master’s degree without the extra hassle.

You don’t have to commute and attend classes, which means you can take the online course even when working a full-time job or while staying home to take care of the family. To make it even better, simply taking the course – and updating your CV to reflect the big step – is often enough to get you considered for a promotion.

More Choices of Fields and Specializations

The degree you choose to pursue should be in a field you genuinely enjoy. This will help make staying motivated throughout the course easier. It also means you will be able to work in the field you enjoy; you can shape the future you want, starting with the right master’s degree under your belt.

An MBA is one of the most popular master’s degrees you can get today. There are plenty of online MBA programs to choose from, with different specializations and focus of study. You should always opt for an AACSB online MBA program. The AACSB accreditation allows you to get the most value and recognition for your MBA degree.

Other degrees such as a degree in nursing, statistics, and social work are just as promising. We’re still experiencing a steady economic growth – and will continue to experience it for the next few years – so there will be plenty of jobs and careers to get into by the time you are finished.

Perfect Time for a Career Shift

Another way pursuing a master’s degree can help you build the future you want is the opportunity for a career change that presents itself as you choose a major. If you’ve been working in finance and you have been wanting to make that jump to marketing in order to follow your passion, pursuing an online MBA degree in marketing is the perfect way to finally take the leap.

A higher degree is always valuable. You will be able to land a better position, earn more and start shaping the future you have always wanted from the time you choose to enroll in an MBA program.

Back @ Craggy Wash- Havasu, Az. #boondocking

Left Quartzsite behind for the week. Too busy over there, while the Big Tent Show was happening, and internet was a slow crawl. Craggy Wash is near Lake Havasu, which offers more "in town" as well, so we'll stay here till Friday and head back. We left the bikes behind as we didnt think the road was too good, but we walked up the road the other way today and it was more packed. So, it would have worked. Oh well.

Choosing Immigration Over Single Market Access, and Why the Pound Will Suffer

For all the vagueness and propaganda that surrounded the Leave campaign's bid to exit the European Union, there was a clear theme that emerged among voters. This was the often controversial topic of immigration, as the relatively open borders of the EU had allowed for an influx of migrants and caused the electorate to question whether or not the government was prioritising the needs of its own people.

It was this sense of fear and insecurity that was exploited mercilessly by Leave campaign, which also leveraged the fervent support of supposed out-cast Nigel Farage to carry the day and ultimately win the referendum vote.

If those who voted thought that change would be swift and decisive, however, they will have been sorely disappointed. So although Theresa May replaced the outgoing David Cameron in the aftermath of the referendum results, the new Tory leadership has unfortunately dealt in rampant speculation rather than cold, hard facts and a concrete exit plan for the UK. She has pledged to trigger the dreaded Article 50 by the end of March, however, hoping to conclude what will most likely be fraught negotiations by the autumn of 2018.

What Does a 'Hard' Brexit Mean, and Why is It Favoured by Voters?

While these plans are a little vague and slightly ambitious, they also offer a unique insight into the type of exit strategy that the UK will pursue. Previously, there had been speculation as to whether May would prefer a 'soft' Brexit, through which the UK would maintain some form of single market access, or a harder alternative that would sever all ties with the EU and re-establish the nation's sovereignty.

Any lingering doubts were settled at the beginning of the year, however, when May addressed the electorate to confirm that the UK would look to make a clean break from the EU. This reflects the true nature of the Leave campaign, while it also underlines the fact that Britain is likely to exit the single market completely. In fact, May also stated that the UK would not seek to replicate the model enjoyed by countries such as Norway and Switzerland, nor would it look to retain any form of partial or associated membership regardless of its potential benefits.

This is the path favoured by Tory Euro sceptics and the majority of hard-line Brexit voters, thanks primarily to the aforementioned issue of immigration. After all, while a hard Brexit will require the UK to surrender its access to the single market and redefine new trade deals with the help of the WTO (World Trade Organisation), it will also regain total control of its borders and immigration policy. This is the pivotal factor that has ultimately influence May's strategy, as she looks to deliver a result that will satisfy the majority of Leave voters.

The Choice Has Been Made Between Single Market Access and Border Control, but How Will it Impact on the Pound?

Ultimately, May has been forced to make a decision between single market access and full border control, as EU ministers have made it clear on several occasions that the two are not mutually exclusive. Although this will enhance her popularity among Brexit voters and ensure that she retains the majority of support among the electorate, however, it also represents a significant political gamble that does not present a very appealing trade-off. We have already seen the economic impact of this too, with the value of the pound plummeting and Chancellor Philip Hammond forecasting challenging times ahead.

In the aftermath of May's announcement, ETX Capital reported that the value of the pound plunged to its lowest level since October's 'flash crash'. This nearly equalled a 31-year low, as the currency fell to $1.1986 before regaining some of these losses over the course of the next few days. While many Brexit enthusiasts will argue that the pound endured similar troughs immediately after the referendum result and May's last Brexit update in October before rebounding, there is no doubt that exiting the EU for real will have longer-term implications for the ailing pound.

To begin with, a weak pound will be unable to compete with the world's major currencies, particularly the robust U.S. Dollar (USD) and the surprisingly resilient Euro (EUR). Given that it would most likely fall further once the UK severs its ties with the EU, this would dramatically increase the price of imports and place businesses under a huge strain. They, in turn, would raise their own prices to the consumer, creating a cycle of decline and oppression which is further exacerbated by rising EU tariffs.

Much would depend on the UK's ability to negotiate new trade deals with Commonwealth nations and independent economies such as the U.S., of course, but these countries would hold a distinct advantage once Britain had already extradited itself from the single market. This could ultimately trigger a sustained economic decline or a recession, forcing the UK to take drastic action in the bid to undercut its EU partners and regain competitiveness.

Chancellor Hammond has already suggested that London businesses would need to alter their course if they were to cope with the fluctuating pound and the prospect of increased prices, or run the risk of losing trade and customers to European rivals such as Germany.

The Last Word

While Prime Minister May has yet to outline her plan in careful detail, she has at least delivered a clear statement of intent that prioritises immigration reform and full border control over continuity and single market access. She has taken a huge risk in the process, however, as while such a move may placate Brexit voters it could also damage the economy while dragging to country backwards and away from the concept of globalisation. A weakened pound is the first portent of how such an exit plan will impact on our economy, while it is also one that could impact on trade and consumer spending in the long run.

Of course, a great many things can happen before the UK finally leaves the EU, as May must first see if she is granted the permission to trigger Article 50 without a parliamentary vote. She must also reveal a more concise and detailed exit plan to the electorate, at least if she is to justify her gamble and the choice of unchecked border control over single market access (while also reinforcing and rebuilding the value of the pound).
