She had a "dated" bench. The "gold" had to go I told her and she also said the seat was much too thin- and it was! Gerry added extra padding to the seat, (used the old padding plus some foam we had from our RV benches he did) reupholstered it with a piece of fabric we found on clearance for $5, did some sanding and spray painting- took a little over 2 cans. Took some time to get all the shine off.. sanding and blow torch. It needed to be done so the paint would stick to it though, but here is the end result, and we all agreed- it turned out great!
