The Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum of Tucson, Arizona

Sunday, January 21, 2018

If your looking for a place to get educated about life in the desert, The Arizona- Sonora Desert Museum is your place to visit. Located outside of city limits in Tucson, Arizona this is a 98-acre zoo, aquarium, botanical garden, natural history museum, and art gallery that was founded in 1952.The exhibits re-create the natural landscape of the Sonoran Desert Region with more than 300 animal species and 1200 kinds of plants along almost 2 miles of paths.

I had wanted to visit the museum as it looked like quite an interesting place and had alot to offer for one visit. I was interested too in seeing the javalina and the coyote and that we did. The javalina were sleeping behind a bush and I had one coyote of the two I saw, following us as we walked down the path beside it's enclosure. The fencing was a very mesh and at times it appeared like there was no fence between us at all! Which was a bit unnerving -haha.

We also watched a Raptor free flight, went into a hummingbird avairy, saw alot of underground animals of the desert, and bighorn sheep.

The museum also offers dining and shopping.

If Tucson is on your list of must see places, be sure to spend time at the Arizona- Sonora Desert Museum- with it's great views, easy walking paths, and beautiful plants- a place for the whole family to see with special activities even for the kids! Voted #1 on Trip Advisor!  We loved our visit.
