Back Home from Winnipeg

Sunday, September 22, 2013

Made it back from my trip to Winnipeg, on Friday. I was able to get my varicose veins done in one of my legs, so all bandaged up, and can take bandages off  tonight, but will have to keep special compression tights on for at least 2 weeks. Will be bruised too but don't know for how long. So no hot holidays where I'm baring any leg till I see what this looks like. I was told it was hereditary for me, and I'll definitely be needing my other leg done at some point in the near future.

Gerry is going to see if I can claim any of the trip, and tights, through our insurance provider, but not sure yet.

While I was in Winnipeg, I stayed at The Days Inn Airport hotel. I loved that it was so close from the airport. Maybe only 3 minutes ride. Although I paid for a cab there, I later learnt from the hotel manager that they do provide a shuttle to and from the airport,( which I did take advantage of on my way home- and thank you Days Inn for that.)

I really cannot say enough good about this hotel though. It definitely was a top class hotel- in a class with hotels such as Radisson and Marriott. Loved the decor from the moment I walked in, and was even greeted by the manager, who was on his way out, but knew I was coming for a hotel review so stayed, chatted and showed me around. The hotel really had a homey feeling, super clean and newly built. I could ramble on and on about the place- but if you are staying in Winnipeg and need to be near the airport, do not pass up the chance to stay here.
