This was one place we were so glad we had time to see on our travels today- the Out of Africa Wildlife Park, outside of Cottonwood, in Camp Verde. We love animals so it was really something that we had wanted to see.
From the time we stepped through the gate, we were greeted by friendly staff.
The zoo really is more than a zoo- it's a wildlife park with a twist. The chance to see hundreds of animals from all over the world roam in their natural habitats. The park is very clean, the animals are well looked after, and we loved how the animals really did seem to be in a African type environment. They were not in any small enclosures- they were given alot of freedom, love from the staff that interacted with them and all seemed to be quite content.
During our day we enjoyed a Tiger Splash, African Bush Safari, walked around viewing some of the animals, and saw how hyenas interacted with staff at the Wonders of Wildlife Show.
We loved the fact as well that there were shuttles that got us from points A to B, and saved everyone from walking if they so desired. We were able to cover alot of ground in a shorter period of time because of this.
The park also offers a zip line, VIP Tours and Gift Shop.
We really can't say enough how enjoyable it was to visit here for us. If you are in the area, it's a MUST see! We really did learn alot today about the animals we saw in the shows and on the bush safari. It was a wonderful place to spend our day! We even got to feed the giraffes a treat!
