Today's Sightseeing in Central North Dakota

Wednesday, July 19, 2017

Man it was hot today- got to 86 today! Too hot for me. My legs always bother me when it gets too hot- feel so heavy and get achy. This morning was rainy and cloudy and we thought sightseeing would really be bad for photos today but by noon it was already clearing up.

We drove about 45 minutes south towards Garrison Dam. Had hoped to have seen the Dam in operation but they were actually fixing the spillway gates, so no water was running through. Was odd to see the one side of the Dam with no water and the concrete base.

From there we went to see the Knife River Indian Villages near Stanton.

After we headed 15 minutes further down the road to the Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center and Fort Mandan.

Had something to eat after they closed at 5 pm and headed back to the campground to relax for the evening and stay indoors with the AC on!

Tomorrow we leave Fort Stevenson Park near Garrison, and head back towards Minot.
