If you find yourself in the area of Cedar City, Utah, be sure to take some time to stop at Utah's Frontier Homestead State Park Museum. Since we're here spending a few days , and love all things related to history AND those blasts from the past, it only made sense for us to stop for a visit.
The museum was established in 1980, and houses various historical exhibits, including horse drawn carriages from the 19th century. You'll learn all about pioneer and early industrial history of this south western area- Iron County.
We loved the historic buildings, and Hunter House. (**see Hunter House photo below, which is Cedar City's oldest remaining brick home).
The grounds also were neat and included a Native heritage exhibit, sawmill, wagon barn and artifacts from the past.
We wish we would have had more time as you could spend hours here!
The park also hosts a variety of events throughout the year and can be viewed online @ frontierhomestead.org
The staff was most helpful and are there to answer any questions you may have.
