Moving Anytime Soon?

Wednesday, January 5, 2011

If you are moving anytime soon, an option is a moving company to help make the process easier.
You have to weigh out your options.
Do you want to be moving heavy furniture and lugging box upon box? Maybe so, to save a buck However, if the ole' bones are aching before you even get started, and your moving more than just across town, long distance movers may be what you need.
If your move is more than 50 miles away and job related, you can claim this expense at tax time.
If your flexible with when you can move, you may be able to check different months to see if the rates are cheaper . Check with the moving company for additional savings- ask questions, and see how you can make your move more economical.
Ask and get an estimate on your moving expenses so you know exactly what to expect.
A move can be stressful so plan ahead, ask questions - your moving company is ready to help.

Wednesday- January 5

Time for another family update....

-granny just got out of the hospital today, and went back home but apprehensive about that
-still no date set for the wedding, but Gerry told me the other day they have a vacation freeze from January-April so those months are out. Still looking at rings as well.
-Erika will be going back to college this weekend, after being here for 3 weeks. There will be no posts from me on Saturday or Sunday of this week as we will be driving to the city to take her to the airport,( which for us is a 6 hour drive). She will then fly out from there and head back to Calgary, till April. Ria,( my other daughter), is visiting her boyfriend in the city right now, so we will be picking her up on the trip back home.
-Gerry hasn't been working much for overtime, so the cheques are back to being smaller again.
Budgeting didn't go too good these past 2 weeks.Friday is payday but we will owe $90 of that for money we were short this week.I'll blame it on the holidays.
-Gerry is starting a diet in the next few days- part of some New Year's Weight Loss Challenge at work. He had his body mass done and he said the nurse told him he was 22lbs overweight, so he's going to try to lose it: eat smaller portions he said, ride the exercise bike and drink more water. He has a desk job and not too active over the cold months, so it's easy to gain the weight.I believe the challenge lasts till April.

You all have a good rest of your week!

Review : Thymes

I recieved some very nice "pampering products" today in the mail from Thymes.
I just love lotions, body wash, hand creams and all those type of products that women love.
The collection I chose to review was Eucalyptus because I love the smell of this stuff and what it does. I find it's so invigorating when you use it.
Thymes Eucalyptus is positive and alive. A scent that not only wakes you up, but leaves you centered, open and ready to take on the day with warmth and vitality.

In 1982, the Thymes bravely began as a small, home-based business offering a collection of soaps and bath salts inspired by their love for art, nature and a desire to elevate everyday moments into restorative rituals. By using their products, they wanted women to be inspired, and find a renewed sense of balance.

Their products are made with essential oils and natural ingredients, and artistically designed and packaged with hand-touched details.

I tried their hand cream, which is very thick, and yet not greasy. It really works nice into your hands. The smell of their body wash wakes you up and the body lotion adds to the experience once you get out of the shower.

You'll love what they can offer.

Are You Lost Without a Clock?

How many of us could go the day without looking at a wall clock? I know I can't.
I always have to know what time it is, and there never seems to be enough hours in the day. I find the day is gone before I know it. I'm not sure why time drags by when one works outside the home though. I've had jobs outside the home and a person is always looking to see what time it is.

We had a few large wall clocks I remember, in school. Time always dragged in school, but it was nice to see what time it was on them though. You were always anxious for lunchtime, as your tummy would always start growling in school before noon, and recess and home times were important to know too.

Do you have clocks in every room? I do. I find myself mostly relying on my kitchen clock, which is to the left of me from the computer in the living room, and my new living room clock that my sister bought for me this Christmas. I use those two the most.Time is important though, even when your on holidays and have schedules planned.I think we'd be lost without clocks, don't you?

Solar Power For Your Home: A Smart Financial Move

What is solar power? Solar power is the conversion of sunlight into electricity, either directly using photovoltaics (PV), or indirectly using concentrated solar power (CSP). CSP systems use lenses or mirrors and tracking systems to focus a large area of sunlight into a small beam. PV converts light into electric current using the photoelectric effect.

The cost of solar power may be cheaper than you think and may very well be a practical idea on saving you money on your energy bill.
How is solar power affordable ? Solar financing is available to get started, which means you no longer have to buy the equipment needed to get started. It's a great option to consider if your worrying about your energy bills, and there are many stories of success with using solar power.

What is the advantage of using solar energy? The basic advantage of using solar energy is that it's an exhaustible source of energy. Our earth will keep receiving solar energy as long as the sun is there. We do not have to worry about issues like shortage of gas, petrol, diesel or electricity when we use solar power.Plus it's green living!

The use of solar energy does not create smoke, so the the air will not get polluted. Which in turn means we are doing good for our planet now and for our children's for their future.

A Healthier New Year

Tuesday, January 4, 2011

As the New Year begins, alot of you will have New Year's resolutions, and weight loss and/or healthier eating/living may be one of them.
I've always tried to live a healthy lifestyle- I love to walk in the outdoors in the nicer months , and bike indoors and use my kettlebell in the colder months.
Because of my IBS and food intolerances, I eat fairly good, but do have my "oh well" days too.

We would like to share with you a great site that would love to help you with your new year, and new goals.

Happy New Year!

Saturday, January 1, 2011

Happy New Year Everyone! I'm a bit late getting on here today....just doing housework,( Saturday is big housework day here: dusting, bathrooms, windexing,etc..).I did want to wish all my readers a healthy, happy and prosperous New Year though, before the day slips away.Have to head off to the hospital later as well. Granny is still in there.

Did you all stay up till midnight last night? Gerry and I were asleep by 11:30.LOL

Most of the adults I talk to usually go to family's for New Year's Eve. The younger crowd go out to socials and the bar, where my daughters were last night, and say, it is mostly a young crowd out.

New Year's resolutions? Gerry and I don't make any.I guess if anything, it would be to try to continue stretching our dollars. It's been almost a year since I've been off work and not searching as much for a job as I was before.I love blogging and am looking at trying to bring in a few dollars through advertising on the site.We manage, and I'm much happier with what I do now....just being home. With having anxiety and IBS, working outside the home isn't at times the easiest thing to balance.

My dad's 67th birthday is today, and I have my niece's 3rd birthday and a brother's birthday this month as well. The reviews I sometimes do help with gifts for them.

Look forward to more giveaways from us in the new year. It's been sort of slow with them over the holidays, as most of our sponsers have taken time off and have been quite busy with the Christmas rush.

All the best in 2011!
