Fact
It takes 1000 years for plastic bags to break down. When they do breaks down, toxic substances leach into the soil and enter the food chain
"At Me & You, we are an environmentally conscious company, designing and manufacturing reusable shopping bags with style and high quality materials.
The Me & You reusable shopping bags are fabulously exciting as we have added more pockets, making organizing a breeze. The fashionable premium style reusable shopping bags have our signature Me & You removable amulet made from recycled wood & paper inscribed with the words "Don't forget about Me & You" as a soulful reminder to bring your reusable shopping bag!
We challenge you to be creative in attaching this amulet, to your purse, keychain or backpack, where ever it can serve as a reminder that we can all make a difference in reducing plastic bags.
At Me & You, we can also custom design and manufacture a bag just for you with your own design or we can create the design for you. Me & You reusable shopping bags are full of style and quality."
The fine folks would love to give one of their bags away to one lucky winner from Canada or the USA. Random.org will draw for the lucky winner on Feb 5th, 2010 from all entries recieved.

I do use plastic bags but I than used them to line my 3 garbage cans under my kitchen sinks. They fit perfectly for plastic recycling; paper recyling; and regular trash.
ReplyDeleteAnd than I don't have to buy garbage bags for these garbage cans..

I only use cloth bags. I love not having all the plastic bags sitting around the house!

I'm guilty of still using plastic. I never remember to take cloth ones with me.

I have changed almost 100% to non-plastic bags. The only time I find I use plastic is when I buy more than the bags I have or it is unexpected....BUT I now have bags in my purse and in my car.

ReplyDeleteI mostly use cloth bags. I do still use plastic bags to line my bathroom trash can, so about once every two months I get a few from Wal-Mart or wherever.

We've been using cloth bags for a few years now!
ReplyDeleteI use both, but that little canvas number up there would definitely persuade me to stop using plastic bags at all. :)

I am using cloth bags about 80% of the time. I am having a difficult time remebering to bring them into stores other than grocery stores...i.e. Canadian Tire, shoppers, thrift stores, etc.

ReplyDeleteI am doing better. I empty my bags and hang them on the door so I have to take them to my car. Once in the car, I do try-with ice, snow, sleet in the past two weeks-I admit that I forgot the bags and brought home plastic. I used the plastic to dispose of doggie-doo. I re-cycled!!!

ReplyDeleteWe have 4 people in our family and each of our cars have 4-5 reusable bags in them. Our problem is remembering to bring them into the store. We're better about it now as the guilt of using plastic helps us to remember.

I still use plastic bags now and then, mainly so I have something to use for my small garbage.

I'm about 75% converted. I have the reusables and usually remember them, but sometimes after unpacking I don't get them back to the car in time for the next shopping trip & I leave them behind. I'm always mad at myself when I forget, though!!
