We compost for our garden, buy in bulk to eliminate waste packaging and recycle plastics, cans and bottles. cardinal1981@live.com
We recycle what we can, use CFL light bulbs, walk the kids to school instead of driving and run the dishwasher on the energy saver cycle.

I grew up in the 50's/60's, and and with that mentality have been reusing, recycling, and reducing since a wee thing! (Trifty Scottish parents/grandparents taught me well too!)
Very little is thrown out without being put to at least one more use: from scraps of material (home made clothes, soft toys, crafts, etc) being used as stuffing, dust cloths, cleaning rags, etc; to styrofoam containers/packaging being used in shrinkcrafts, cut up for plant markers, outlet draft stoppers, regifting homemade cookies, cakes, brownies; almost everything is reused and recycled.
A bountiful garden is readied throughout the winter from meal-prep scraps emptied into the pre-winter garden hole, and covered up lightly weekly with garage-stored dirt. In the spring, pop bottles with their bottoms cut off work as mini greenhouses, only to be turned over and partially buried top side down next to plants and used as water-conserving drip-watering containers. (The bottoms I cut off are used as 'saucers' for new plants I start indoors from the seeds of peppers/tomatoes/squash/ etc used in meal prep).
My garden helps grow prolific herbs and spices for use in home therapies and cooking, thus keeping my family healthier and drastically cutting down on the need for prescription chemicals.

Ps. We also 'gorrila garden', highly recommended to help out our planet! Literally, a soothing sight for (polution) sore eyes!

I've done a lot in the last year to do my part and I plan on continuing to make changes. I use reusable bag instead of plastic or paper. I've switched most of my cleaners to "safe" cleaners. I have even switched to organic, chemical free cosmetics and have recently jumped on the "NO Shampoo" bandwagon and so far so good! We switched from regular light bulbs to energy saving florescent bulbs and hopefully we continue on our venture to improve ourselves.

I try to buy a lot of things used (clothing, household items, etc.) By doing this I am supporting a charity (Salvation Army) but am also trying to keep things from the landfill. I am also a freecycle member.

I not only reuse old clothes and recycle but I compost and put it into my garden, this year I'm going to try my hand at growing some of our own food too! (Last year I planted the seeds too early and everything died -.- )

We make our life greener by regularly recycling everything possible. We also use CFLs, Energy Star appliances, and reusable shopping bags. We combine driving trips to save mileage -- and turn things like lights off when not in use. *Thanks* for the giveaway!
