Our Weekend Trip To Prince Albert/Saskatoon

Sunday, October 20, 2013

Gerry took Friday off this weekend so we could make a trip to the city to pick up up our flooring in Saskatoon and do some shopping in both Saskatoon and in Prince Albert, on the way coming back home.
Things were all clear with the drive going there but we hit snow coming back. Of course people just can't drive the road conditions, and some we seen driving way too fast on the other side of the road from us. Doesn't make you very happy as they are risking getting us into an accident too!

We had to make a stop in Prince Albert and drop Jake off at the kennels before we drove on to Saskatoon, so you can see here, when he went out, all the dogs were "on his tail" so to speak.

Once we got him dropped off at the kennels, it was on to Saskatoon, about another hour's drive.
We made our stop while there at Home Depot, picking out our chestnut oak laminate flooring for our kitchen, hall, laundry room and spare bedroom. There was nice large selection of flooring here as well as the inventory was on hand.

The 45 boxes of flooring was 1,000 lbs., which helped with the weight in the truck for the drive home the next day on roads already being snowed on and messy.
After we picked up our flooring, we managed to grab some grub and do some other shopping before we headed back to Prince Albert, to stay for the evening.
Driving back to Prince Albert was another hour coming back from Saskatoon, but allowed us to stay a bit closer to home, before we headed out the next day.( 4 hour drive Prince Albert-home).
We got ourselves checked in at the Days Inn in Prince Albert for the evening. We actually got $20 in Stay and Play money for the casino close by and another $10 from the casino for signing up for their Players Club (free). Was nice to have $30 each in free casino money. We did win but of course played it back! But we had fun! The hotel was packed when we went though and breakfast from the continental breakfast nook, the next morning, was brought back to our room as it looked liked a whole team was staying there when we were. Friendly staff, clean, and they even allowed us a later check out. Recommended for your next stay while in the area!

  1. I was surprised to see snow in your area travelled. I think here in Southern Ontario we will have an early snowfall also.

  2. Yes, and I'm so not good with the cold. My body hates it!
