-If you can turn down your fridge to the lowest setting, while still keeping foods at a cold temperature, you will help the amount of times your fridge is cutting in to keep extra cold, when you open the door.
Yes... now you can all run to your fridge and re-adjust those dials.

- Keep a rainy day emergency fund for such things as appliance breakdown. Even if you can save $5-$10 every week, it's there in case you have a breakdown. Remember, that even if you don't buy new, a second hand appliance will at least set you back $100-$200. We keep an emergency fund- almost $900 in it- but we have had a few appliance repairs we have done from that money already- so we have dipped into it. But it's nice to know it's there.
