Day 4- Montana/Wyoming

Monday, June 4, 2012

This morning we left Bozeman and headed to West Yellowstone,( 2 1/2 hour drive).Road construction so it took us a bit longer than we had liked.Weather has been wonderful.Another nice day that saw 82 degrees. We've had nice hot days with short thunderstorms later in the day.

We are now checked in at the Super 8, just 7 minutes from West Yellowstone. Received a warm welcome by staff and manager.Staying in the king room, which has been completely renovated with a rustic decor. Room is clean, hotel nice and the area is quiet. Peaceful since it's away from the town limits.

Once we got all settled and unpacked, we left for Yellowstone National Park.
Park entrance fee is $25 but allows you to come back and re-enter anytime within the week.

We drove part of the lower loop in the park,  to Old Faithful, and returned back since it was already later in the day. Looking forward to heading out again tommorow and seeing more of the park, as it is an amazing place.

Saw a ton of buffalo,(no pun intended). They roam freely everywhere!

Stopped to see the famous Old Faithful Inn, which is a historic landmark in the park, and to watch Old Faithful blow, just steps away. Quite a crowd gathered for this, and everyone was excited to see it.

Besides Old Faithful, we saw mudpots, and smaller geysers.Tommorow will bring more to see and do!
