Today's Ramblings

Sunday, March 21, 2010

I thought I would write a few lines before I started making supper.

This week I recieved the book Suddenly Frugal to review.I am half way through it.
Whenever I get a great book to review, I can't seem to keep my nose out of it and will read till sometimes I finish it, in a day or two. I love this book. Leah Ingram writes on alot of great topics as well as tells a story of how she grew up learning to save and reduce, reuse and recycle. It's a great book. Frugal Hacks has posted a review that they did with Leah Ingram. In case yo do not have this book in your collection, I suggest you keep a look out for it.

Gerry and I are off on Wednesday to a Tom Jackson concert in town.At $10 a pop, it wasn't too bad a deal for a night out. Some of you may also reconize him from the  CBC television series North of 60 .

This Friday we may be taking a trip out of town to see a Quantum Touch healer. Both of us have health issues and this is something I'd like to give a try to.I would be interested in hearing from anyone else who has tried this holistic approach to healing.

I must run though... daughter is home and hungry for supper...and this cook needs to put the grub on.

  1. You motivated me to start rereading The Complete Tightwad Gazette last night.

Today I went food shopping. I decided not to buy 90% organic food anymore. I lost alot of freelance work.

I still did get meat and milk free of hormones and all natural food mainly... and my gosh everything I needed turned out to be about 1/2 price on sale. I spent 55.00 instead of about 100.00 (and if it was from the organic place I order from and home delivered I would have spent 200.00...

I do have to say I will go back to organic (that is never really on sale) if and when I earn more again.

But for now... I have to do what is best...and I still did get basically healthy food...(just not organic).

    hugs.

  2. I wish the healthier for us food was cheaper too-great to keep your eyes peeled for sales and reduced product.
That Tightwad Gazette is great but takes ALOT of disipline.
