On our travels today, we made a stop off the highway to two interesting places, side by side.
The first one was the Goldwell Open Air Museum. The sculpture park is free to the public and open always.
The other area, just up the road , is the Ghost Town of Rhyolite. Founded in 1904 and dead by 1916, Rhyolite was one of several short lived boom-towns from the late Gold Rush era. Also the ghost town has been used in Hollywood movies in the past. Great to have it added to the bucket list of seeing another ghost town!
