Readers- Can You Help Me?
Wednesday, September 1, 2010
Hi everyone-
I wanted to make a loaf today using a chocolate cake mix. I thought it would be easy to find a recipe online but haven't been able to.
If anyone has a recipe or directions on how to adjust the cake mix to make a loaf, I would love to have it. Will post the first one I recieve with a link to your site.
I made a banana loaf yesterday. It's so much cheaper making your own than buying them in the store, isn't it?

I don't know if this will help or not, but I thought I'd give you a heads-up, in case you could use it. At The Fresh Loaf, near the bottom of the page, they tell how to use the different sized pans with a yellow cake mix. They tell the different amounts of time to bake in different pans. I hope this will be of some help. I don't do much cooking, anymore, but it seems like this is what you are looking for. Good luck.

Thank you for the reply- but the recipe I saw here was for a bundt and not sure I could use that for a loaf pan? Perhaps 2 pans? Any thoughts?
ReplyDeleteI ended up yesterday making brownies instead with the cake mix, so if anyone still comes up with a loaf pan recipe with a cake mix, I'd love to see it.
Hmm, you're right there aren't very many loaf cakes using cake mix. I did find one that looks interesting on the Recipe Goldmine site for a Chocolate Loaf Cake using cake mix. I haven't tried this particular recipe but I have tried combining cake mix and pudding mix before and it makes for a really rich and delicious cake. I'll keep my eyes open and if I see another one somewhere I'll post it. I figured there would be some on sites like betty crocker but didn't have much luck there either.

Thank you for your help...with lactose intolerance though,we don't eat cream cheese, which this recipe had in it,but perhaps another may find it useful so I have printed your link.
ReplyDeletePlease let me know if you find anything else.
Thank you for your help.
Well this sounds like a great dessert for tonight's dinner. I'm a chef so I love a good challenge :)
ReplyDeleteI'll put together something easy using a chocolate boxed mix with no dairy and hopefully it will turn out tasty with a nice loaf texture.
