Anytime I hear about a new money saving book, I love to get my hands on it. Sometimes it's same old same old, and other times, you learn a few new tricks. I learned a few new handy tips with this book.
I was given the opportunity to review the second edition printing of the a national best seller:
This was a great 288 page book. It's all about not wasting your money and building your wealth.Written with short chapters filled with great information, and easy to understand concepts. I truly enjoyed this book.
Canadian consumers are focused on spending and managing what money they do have wisely, but have more questions than answers on most financial topics. Television personality and consumer advocate Pat Foran shares tips and strategies about the questions and issues he sees most often, and explains how some little things can soon add up to a lot of money.
Some topics covered include:
•Credit and loyalty cards, and what kind of deal they really are
•How much insurance is enough – and what kinds do most people need?
•How to shop for a vehicle, and if it’s worth it to import from the US
•Mortgages, tax breaks, and other complicated financial decisions
•Getting the most bang for your buck, whether while shopping or travelling
Packed with money-saving advice, this title will also include the latest information on marketplace trends, the investment climate, housing prices, interest rates, and other techniques for savings. As an added bonus, Pat has included quotes and comments from prominent Canadian businesspeople and celebrities about the best financial advice they’ve received in their lifetimes.
Our sponser would love to give another Canadian a chance to win this book for their collection of great reads as well.
One Canadian reader will win this book in a random draw by Random.org on September 16,2010 from all entries recieved.

Good luck to all!
I only own one credit card and i pay off the full amount monthly. It is just easier for me then carrying cash and i like the detailed bill so i know where i am spending. I get a tiny bit of cash back at the end of the year, usually $100. It is kinda like a nice Christmas bonus!

I have one very basic card and my husband has two (one that he's had since he was a teen and a rewards card). Nowadays you need a credit card for so much(hotels, online shopping, etc.) it would be hard to get by without one.

ReplyDeletewe have 3.. and we pay them all off every month. One is just for large emergency purchases (such as dental work) that we can't always pay off, because it's really low interest. This would be a great book, as we are really trying to figure out how we can save money, as we are spending more than we make and can't figure out why.
