Egypt on a Budget

Monday, July 16, 2012

Egypt, the cradle of civilization and the home of pharaohs is on many travelers must see list. From walking the pyramids, seeing the great sphinx or cruising the Nile River, there are many things to see and do.

Egypt holidays don’t have to cost a bundle if you are on a budget. While many travelers choose summer for their journey, consider an alternative season. Egypt is very hot in the summer and it is also the most expensive. Winter travel will grant you lower prices and temperatures as well as fewer crowds.

Ethnic meals in Egypt can be delicious but water can be a problem, avoid the added expense of getting ill and drink bottled water and avoid ice cubes. If seeing individual attractions on their own is cost prohibitive, consider bundling them such as visiting the Valley of the Kings along with a cruise down the Nile River.

One of the greatest ways to save money on your Egyptian holiday is to haggle. So let loose your inner frugal child and argue down the prices of gifts and souvenirs, it is not only okay, but it is also expected.
An Egyptian holiday can be a great and affordable experience.
