Grizzly Bear Rescue & Education Sanctuary- Montana
Friday, May 11, 2012
The grizzly bear is one of North America’s most iconic creatures. It is truly wonderful, although a bit frightening to see a bear in the wild. Unfortunately not all bears can live in the wild, but should not live in captive environments, often in cruel conditions.
Today the Grizzly bear habitat is only 2% of its original range.Montana Grizzly Encounter is located in Bozeman , Montana. It is designed to be a spacious and natural home for rescued grizzlies. It is also a place designed for the public to become educated about grizzly bears and be able to come up close to them in their natural setting. There are no bars or cages imprisoning the animal or obstructing the view. The captive bears that cannot be returned to the wild find a wonderful second home in this sanctuary.
There are a number of bears in the sanctuary with its own unique back story and experiences.
This is an excellent opportunity to learn about bears and bear-safety in the wild in order to minimize the danger from bear-human interactions.
Come and learn about this majestic wild symbol of the American Rockies up close and personal.
Gerry and I are looking forward to our visit next month and encourage our readers to make a donation for this great cause .

It's a great facility run by outstanding folks who are committed to proper care for the bears and education about bears and bear safety for people. Been there several times and going back again this summer.
