The Hoover Dam

Thursday, November 11, 2010

When we went to Vegas 4 years ago, we didn't have the time or take the time to see the surroundings of Vegas, and really, there is alot more to the area. Courtesy of Vegas.com, we were able to get to see the Hoover Dam.
A shuttle came right to our resort and boarded us, where we later contacted with a tour bus, and we were off to the Hoover Dam. Total time: 4 hours-hotel back to hotel.
We stopped along the way to see beautiful Lake Mead as well where our tour guide talked to us about the area.

Then it was off to the Dam, where we took the Hoover Dam Express Tour which was designed for those interested in the Hoover Dam and looking for the shortest tour in the city. Since we only had a few days in the area, we tried to get in as much as possible in the time we had.

This designed express tour gave us the comfort in a customized vehicle that included oversized windows,
which was nice to get a great view of all the nice scenary on the way.

This excursion included the Discovery Tour of Hoover Dam, which showcased special features such as educational films, the exhibit gallery, observation deck, Nevada intake tower and the old exhibit building.

We were amazed by the size of the dam and the new bridge.
I found a couple there that I asked if they would like me to take their picture together if they would like to take ours as well.
We didn't have time to walk on the bridge up behind us, but would have liked to.It wasn't till later that I actually noticed people were up there!
Our 2 hours there flew by!

On return, the guide gave us an excellent narrative of Las Vegas and surrounding areas.
Thank you Vegas.com!
