Is It Possible to Get a Personal Trainer for Cheap?

Tuesday, October 19, 2010

If you have ever felt jealous of the celebrities who can bounce back to their pre-baby weight just a few weeks after giving birth, that is mainly thanks to their own celebrity personal trainer. But even if you can’t afford the best of the best, you can still get the fitness help that you are looking for on a tight budget, believe it or not!

Set Your Fitness Budget

The first order of business should be to set your fitness budget and stick to it so that you can know how much you are willing to spend on your fitness costs per month. Whether that number ranges from $50-$200, stay within your budget so that you don’t put a financial strain on yourself. Often times, you can get creative and set aside a little bit of extra money by quitting smoking, cutting back on shopping, or even buying generic items at the grocery store.

Spend Your Budget Wisely

If you are like so many people out there that have only $50 to spend on a personal trainer, that may get you a half hour at best. Still, you shouldn’t discount group training, where you could partner with a few friends to get personal training down to $25 per hour per person. Otherwise, you can go to a large group class for personal training, like a boot camp that may cost $15 per hour. With your $50 budget, you could go to roughly 3 classes per month to get your butt in gear!

Learn from Your Trainer

If you can only afford to meet your personal trainer once or twice per month, you will definitely need to take what you learn and work out on your own. Make sure that you work with a personal trainer that will create a fitness plan for you to stick to on your own, or it is not worth your money. Many times, when you join a gym, they will give you a free or discounted session with a personal trainer, which you should take advantage of so that you can get pro advice on the best way to workout to create a plan that you will stick to each month.

The truth is that hiring a quality personal trainer may be much less expensive than you think and also serve as a wise investment to improve your fitness and your health!
