Review: T-Fal Actifry

Saturday, March 12, 2011

"With just one spoon of oil, cook 1 kg of real crispy chips with only 3% fat "

When I first heard about T-Fal's Actifry deep fryer that cooked with only a small spoon of oil, I was very interested in learning more. Upon reading more in a magazine ad, I really thought it would be great to review one of these. Especially for someone like me who has IBS and troubles with digesting too much oil,( among a hundred other things). Plus take into account the health factor that you don't have to eat food that fried in grease. I loved the idea!

When the fryer arrived, I was anxious to try it that same day, by making fries to go with supper.

Cut up potatoes which needed to be dried on a clean towel.

Adding in the potatoes with a small spoon of oil and a sprinkling of salt.

You then close the lid and set the timer, as the inside tumbler goes round and round, cooking them.

In 35 minutes they were done and nicely crisp on the outside and soft on the inside, and minus the excess grease.

I liked the Actifry and glad to have had the opportunity to ty it out. Gerry said as well it was nice to not have the excess grease added to the fries.

The Actifry comes with a cookbook and other food items can be cooked in it as well, so I will have to experiment another time, trying other things in it.

T-Fal makes frying healthy!
