Engagement and Wedding Rings and What They Symbolize

Thursday, January 6, 2011

I love looking at rings online, especially since I have a wedding to plan this year.

Engagement rings are symbols of the love, devotion, and fidelity a couple shares and with both engagement and wedding rings the circle of a ring represents undying love and the continually renewed vows of the married couple. As a circle cannot be broken, neither can their bond.

Engagement rings mean the woman wears the ring to show the world that she intends to be married soon and is unavailable to others.
Diamonds are most often the gemstone of choice for engagement rings because of their unique ability to reflect white light, and look most brilliant.
Wedding rings make two souls one, and are a symbol of marriage.

Nowadays I read that even some men are getting engagement rings as well, as more and more women are "popping the question."

With Valentine's Day coming up next month, this is another time of year when more women will get engaged and be getting engagement rings. As well, February 14th is also a day of the year when many couples choose to get married as well. However, if choosing this date, plan well enough in advance as this day is very popular for being romantic!
