A Lesson Learned-I Hope

Thursday, January 27, 2011

Well, I have a confession.

How many of you play the scratch off tickets? We all do don't we?
(Hey, I'm trying to justify my bad choice today.)

Gerry plays the lottery weekly. We haven't seen much back but $10 or a few free plays in the 5 years I've been with him.I always tell him if he'd had given me that money I would have had it saved for him, and it would be LIKE he had won the lottery when I give it back to him in x amount of years.

I played a $10 ticket the other day. I won $10 back and played another ticket with that money and won $50! That was nice. I thought for sure if I bought more of that same ticket with all the big prizes on it, I would have even better luck. I decided to go to the ticket centre today and get 5 more of that same ticket.

I had a good feeling about buying them prior to actually getting them.
The girl even opened a new package and pulled off 5 tickets, one after another. Certainly one had to be a winner, but in the end, I didn't win a dime.

I always tell my kids and Gerry, if your meant to win, you'll win. It won't take 5 or 10 tickets. It will only take that one ticket. Certainly not practising what I preach today and feeling very down about a bad choice.
